Library Learning Lab

The Library Learning Lab provides a dedicated computer training area to be used for self-paced learning and career development.

The lab includes six workstations with the 2010 Microsoft Office Professional Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Publisher. Specialized databases are also available on these computers to help the individual searching for a job to:

  • Identify existing job skills
  • Upgrade and add new job skills
  • Improve computer skills
  • Identify potential careers
  • Write resumes and cover letters
  • Locate and apply for jobs online
  • Complete the job hunting process

The lab is also available for:

  • Hands-on seminars
  • Computer classes provided by the Library staff
  • Computer access for HCC Work Keys qualifiers
  • Online classes from offsite providers
  • Online tests from offsite providers

The Freeport Public Library Learning Lab was established in 2011 using funds received from a federal grant.
